Cannes MIPIM is once again just around the corner. With all the excitement of networking and – of course – partying, you may not have much time to plan where to eat during your stay. You might be taking a contact out, or just fed up with cooking in your apartment – but where should you go that isn’t a tourist trap? Wouldn’t you rather eat like a local instead? We prepared a list last year for Cannes MIPIM 2017 of our Top Five Cannes Affordable Restaurants, and now want to share with you our recommendations of the best local spots in Cannes for MIPIM 2018. Here’s our Top 5 Cannes Restaurants MIPIM 2018 edition. Santé!

Top 5 Cannes Restaurants MIPIM 2018 #1 Restaurant: Le Croisette

The perfect location

1 Boulevard de la Croisette. Mon – Sun, from 8:30am – 2:30am, with kitchen open non-stop 11:30am – 12am.

Le Croisette is ideally located for those attending Cannes MIPIM 2018: directly opposite the Palais des Festivals. Open all day long – and well into the night – Le Croisette is a great option to grab a drink, coffee, or a proper meal without travelling far from the action. Aside from being in a great spot, you can enjoy a full lunch or dinner at an affordable price – for Cannes, anyway! (A main course is around 17 €, and a glass of wine around 7 €.) They boast French classics, as well as pizzas, pastas and burgers – and a huge dessert menu.

Top 5 Cannes Restaurants MIPIM 2018 #2 Restaurant: Federal

For a casual evening

31 Rue Hoche. Mon – Sat, 8am – 10pm.

If you want to keep it casual, then grabbing a panini or focaccia could be all you need – and can be considerably cheaper than other options (around 6 €). At Federal their sandwiches are freshly-made, and plenty of vegetarian options are available. They also do a great range of wines by the glass (between 5 – 9 €), and all the classic cocktails (around 10 €). Hang out with the locals and enjoy the cosy, vintage vibes.

And while you’re in the area…

… pop to Le Bar à Vin for an evening drink, just along the road by the Hotel Ibis. It is remarkably affordable for Cannes, offering beer on tap, and free snacks with your drinks. The range of wines is superb (between 4.50 € and 8 € a glass). Le Bar à Vin is a favourite with locals for an after-work drink, and always busy, so make a reservation or head there early! (10 Rue Marceau. Mon – Sat, 6pm – 2am.)

Top 5 Cannes Restaurants MIPIM 2018 #3 Restaurant: La Californie

For something sophisticated

1 Square Mérimée. Mon – Sun, 8am – 2am.

La Californie is a great spot to bring your new contacts for a business lunch, or to relax after a long day of events. It’s the place to be, especially with the outside seating making it perfect for people-watching. Drinks are around 13 – 14 €, and main courses upwards of 20 € – and the cocktails are true showstoppers. And the best part of all? It’s right opposite the Palais des Festivals, for added convenience.

Top 5 Cannes Restaurants MIPIM 2018 #4 Restaurant: Le Pastis

For a very French lunch

28 Rue du Commandant André. Mon – Sat, 8am – 12am. Sun, 7pm – 12am.

If you’re in the mood for an authentic French meal, then look no further than Le Pastis, a charming bistro only five minutes’ walk from the Palais des Festivals. It’s full of locals who have popped out of the office to have lunch. Expect French classics like omelette (around 11 €), salade niçoise (16€),  and steak tartare (20 €), as well as pasta and pizzas (around 12 €). They also do a fantastic Croque Monsieur (12 €). Enjoy Le Pastis’ vintage decor, or watch the world go by if you get a table outside.

Top 5 Cannes Restaurants MIPIM 2018 #5 Restaurant: Armani Caffè

For a well-deserved break

42 – 43 Boulevard de la Croisette. Mon – Sat, 8am – 9pm (but bear in mind if you want to have a meal that restaurant hours are 12:30pm – 3pm on Mon – Sat, and 12pm – 4pm on Sunday).

If events at the Palais des Festivals are getting too hectic, then why not take the five-minute walk to the Armani Caffè for a bit of peace and quiet – we won’t tell anyone! For a light lunch, you can opt for a salad or panini, or something more substantial with their pasta and other Italian classics (average price around 20 €). The cocktails look, frankly, out of this world. Even better, they are known to give you a little snack with your drink. Being Armani, it is naturally beautiful inside.

And while you’re in the area…

… head ’round the corner to Bar Lalu for a drink. Very popular with the locals, wine is only 5 – 7 € a glass, and they do proper pints of beer. You always get free snacks with your drinks, too. It’s a wonderfully relaxed place to head with your colleagues or new contacts after a long day at the conference. (32 Rue du Commandant André.)

And last but not least: Le 360º – Radisson Blu Rooftop Bar

2 Boulevard Jean Hibert. Mon – Sun, 10am – 11pm.

OK, so Le 360º is certainly not wallet-friendly – but it’s definitely worth the splurge, and will be sure to impress whoever you’re taking. Ascend to the top floor of the iconic Radisson Blue Hotel in the evening to watch the sunset reflect into the bay, all whilst sipping on a cocktail or glass of something fizzy. We won’t even tell you how much it costs, but the free snacks do somewhat mitigate the elevated bill. When in Cannes, right?

  3. Beautiful list and information about the restaurants! I’ve been trying for many years in Cannes to drink a perfect flat-white latte art and was not able to find. I will definitely try the Armani Caffe.
